Unique

Location

The question: “What makes you unique?”

I work hard.

There will always be people who work harder.

I am smart.

There will always be people who are smarter.

I can sing.

So? Others can sing as well.

Then…I do not know. I guess I am not special.

No you are. Think again.

I walk by Faith.

Then have you not sinned?

I love my family.

Then have you not caused them pain?

I love myself.

Then have you not thought about the unthinkable?

Then…I do not know. I guess I am not special.

No you are. Think again.

I want to end health disparities.

So does everyone else.

I want to find the cure for HIV.

So does everyone else.

I want to travel the world.

So does everyone else.

Then…I do not know. I guess I am not special.

No you are.

It is not about who you are or what your dreams are that makes you unique.

It is about what you have done; what you have gone through.

The mistakes, the heartaches, and the joys create you to be unique.

No one can have the same experiences as you.

I was in a car accident.

My sister died of poverty.

My godmother died of breast cancer.

This is what made me who I am.

Yes, you are special.

Your life and experiences create uniqueness and not the person.

The question: “What makes you unique?”

Nothing….but my heart and the tears of my soul.
