Unlike

Sometimes

the things we can

grow, learn, want

are what people are not

Protected

but desire demands

freedom

Security

but never chasing

after dreams

Telling

how one must be

Controlling life

Ideas

from others

tell what I

could never be

Sometimes

the things we can

love, adore, desire

are what is kept from us

Insulted

the medium I love

Restricted

the genre that calms me

Told

to be happy

simply

cause there are people

worse off than

I

You take

my happiness

force me to

smile

Anger

because it is not real

My heart is not yours

it is MINE

While you

may

have different thoughts

we are human

I am me

You are you

My thoughts

rule my world

My passion

drives me forward

I learned to stand

as tears streak

my face

because

you taught me

that in the end

only I would guard

my soul
