Unwanted Memories

Unwanted memories.

Chew and swallow them.

There is no erasing

them no matter how hard

you try to. They linger.

The taste of tears and

old burned love letters.

Rancid. Dark and oily.

Grief washes  over me.

Uninvited and

 destructive mixed with my

anger, sometimes.

Occasionally, I

taste fear as well. Stale and

aged but still pungent.

You never know until

it is too late the price

of experience.
