Walk a mile in my shoes

To be called a monster to your face
Adults you trusted call you a disgrace
To be pushed and shoved onto the floor
Your best friend doesn't like you anymore
To be teased for diminutive height
Always afraid to go to bed at night
To be mocked because you’re sensitive
Only nine years old, yet seeing no reason to live
To fear the school where you've been years
Drowning nightly in a flood of tears
To lose all of your closest friends
That day, your world ends
To move into a new light
Even when you still fear the night
To beg and cry when you pray
That everything today will be okay
To believe change came with the switch
Crushed again to be called a witch
To wish for a pleasant destiny
Free from everyone’s bullying
To walk with me side by side
Now you know why I've cried
Because you've lived a moment in my life
