The War in Me

Beowulf versus Grendel

A classic tale of battle, which continues in me.

My Grendel has terrorized me for years,

Sinking her claws deep into my soul

Every day I fight back – Becoming my own hero

All the while my Grendel laughs.

Some days I win, some days I lose.

Nevertheless, every day I face my monsters

Every day I fight back with a will as strong as steel.

The war rages on,

But I know

One day

I will slay my Grendel.
