The Waterfall

We are only drops of water

In the river that is life.

You are trapped by those around you

And you try to turn and fight.

But the river pulls and pushes

It bends you into shape.

And before you know what’s happened

It’s too late to escape.

You're caught in the current

Bound to follow in their wake.

The longer you’re in the river

The slower things tend to move.

Until you long for it all to end

And you are just confused.

You are no longer content

With watching life flow by.

But before you have the chance to change

The river will deny.

And the next thing that you know you're starting to fly.

But the panic soon sets in

You’ve missed your only chance.

And as you begin to fall

You cannot help but think:

I don’t want the river to end…
