we are

Location

This is my attempt at a spoken word piece. Not finished. But, its how I want to start and end it. Tell me what you think...

Everybody's always trying to box us in,
You're built hard as a rock, or thin,
You're fat, maybe average, but you're not the "them"
You're more.
You're more than just an SAT score,
More than just a college degree,
You are everything that anybody's ever wanted to be.
You're more than just your skin tone
You're black, white, brown, and everything in between.
You're not a carbon copy of anything.
You're unique, and you're everything.
From the trees , to your dreams.
Your aspirations, imagination.
a massive nation of Alaskan natives.
From falling stars to the malls and cars,
Let's relax and take it in, bask in the greatness that is you.
We're all searching through
To find clarity in the blurred lines of the hidden truth.
The forbidden fruit was as good for the soul as chicken soup, and we're living proof.
On the crazy train to our impending doom
And I saved a seat, just for you.
