We are JUST people

I write for the people in the past, the present, and the future
We are all JUST people
We have the ability to stretch ourselves
To look deep into our souls
And to extract things that are kept unknown
But at the end of the day, when we seek ourselves into the mirror
We find and end up to be JUST people

No superheroes, no astronauts, not even a teacher
Not a mom or dad, not even a preacher
To let these things define us is quite simply silly
Because if the world didn't have words
These jobs or titles would be just globs
To make all the rest of us feel guilty

So it is true that we are JUST people
We shouldn't measure our worth to the things we seem or do
Because in the end what defines us is what we think
And that is something that we as people could never undo

So we might all be JUST people,
But you might want to ask yourself are we just people
The actions of a superhero, astronaut, or teacher
Of a mom, dad, or preacher might be respectable and holy
But if you look deep into the minds of these collectibles
Could they be defined as a phoney

So you might keep track of the things you are,
And in the end you will find you are JUST part of the people
But if you collect your thoughts and reasons of the things you are,
You will find you are a just person and this is a burden for the JUST people
Because we are all JUST people
But only some of us are just people
