We Dreamed

Mishaps turn into decisions,
They leave the head ridden,
Thinking and pondering.
These stars were once bright,
Until the land fell from sight,
And the hopes crashed and sunk.
What a hopeless end for the drunks,
The ones wishing for a dream,
A happy ending for the sake of living.
It seems as though the world gave up,
Forgetting a fight we had raged,
It started one early night.
On the edge of our seats,
We sat and watched.
Pondering and thinking,
Oh it was always that.
A mistake or two,
We raked over with our minds,
Hoping for a better world.
But we were never willing to fight.

Only to pounder and think,
And sometimes even,
Even without the stars,
We dreamed.

Our world
