Weight of Responsibility

Conquering the swing set,

blowing a dandelion apart,

building forts.

Careless, happy, excited

days filled with endless fun.

Years tick by like minutes,

“get a job!”

hard work

busy busy busy.

No more time for play,

drowning in homework,

everyone’s expectations,

crushing responsibility.

Mistakes, failures, disasters.

Procrastination turns into time management,

mistakes turn into lessons,

talent turns into experience.

Welcome to adulthood
