Welcome to my life

I started out my freshman year

Believed everything they ever told me

Walked down the hall expecting not to be the newby

I met my match that year

Anxiety, stress, sleep deprivation

The butterflies crawled up my sides

Fluttering out my throat

I wanted to scream

To cry, to lie on the floor and never get up

Flash forward 3 years

Here I stand

I'll walk across that grand stage

I'll kiss these hallways goodbye

Watching all these memories fade

The tears they burn

Begging to run down both cheeks

But when will I learn

That I am strong

I am not hopeless

I am fearless

I am not mousy

Today is my day

I welcome you

Welcome you to my life.
