Whales, Poisons, Humans, Monsters

Mon, 10/29/2018 - 00:13 -- jneal

Poisons,

Washing away from our lands,

To our seas.

Infecting the largest of creatures.

Poisons,

Washing away down streams,

Though lakes, rivers,

To our seas.

Poisons,

Fed to our animals,

Our cows, Our food.

Eaten by humans,

Consumed by whales.

Poisons,

Natural and manmade.

Ending up in our seas.

For the clouds to eat.

Humans,

A species of consumers,

Packages, food, goods,

Traveling all around the world.

Humans,

In boats,

As large the mountains,

Gliding through the waters.

Humans,

Having no idea,

What’s under the bottom,

Of a boat bigger the a mountain.

Humans,

Jolt forward,

“What was that?”

“Who cares, keep sailing”

Monsters,

Shooting, yelling,

Killing, depleting.

Selling out for profit.

Monsters,

Killing something innocent,

Because it’s worth money,

Because they can.

Monsters,

Attacking the innocent,

Wounding the loving,

Wiping out populations.

Monsters,

Making a profit,

Off the flesh of an animal,

No caring what happens.

Whales.

Dying, Bleeding,

Hit by something bigger than they are.

What’s bigger than a whale?

Whales.

Attacked for their flesh,

Poisoned because no one cares,

Hit by boats,

Whales.

The largest of creatures.

Infected by poisons.

Harmed by humans.

Attacked by everything.

Whales.

Resilient and Protected,

Adored and Cherished.

Respected by few.
