What are we?

Mon, 04/24/2017 - 17:45 -- Hazel.O

What are we?

It's like sand Honey

Sand in an hourglass

And I'm trying to grab on to it in the middle

Like its a rope but it keeps slipping through my fingers

I feel it. But I feel it slipping away

As I hope if  I clutch it tighter the friction between us will be hot enough for the sand to melt into glass

Something rigid with structure and definition

So I can finally answer the question

What are we?

I lay in bed awake

I move over so there is enough room for you

If you were here

I gently caress your hair

And kiss your forehead

Until we both drift off to sleep

But

What are we?
