What Are We Now

Many welcomed in by the Statue of Liberty

We opened our door

To the tired, wretched poor

But why do we shut it again?

After all immigration has done

In building our nation as one

We turn them away

Are we really as good as we say?

Our Lady still stands

Her torch in her hand

But her message is long forgotten
