What Ever Happened to the Land of the Free?

We used to be great.

Leader of the modern world.

Bringer of truth, justice, and the Dream.

We used to have it all.

We used to be the land of freedom.

Not the destroyers of worlds.

People see our flag and they’d rather take hell.

We used to be a symbol of hope.

We used to be undivided.

So much for being United.

Now we blame our country’s mistakes on the other party.

We used to know how the other side felt.

Now we have a land divided.

We separate from others to keep our own safe.

But who is our own if we abandon our own brothers and sisters.

Now we’ve forgotten who family is.

Now we have a land who forgot what freedom is.

Just because you can doesn’t mean you have to.

You have to face the consequences for your own actions.

Now we set fires and don’t look back.

Now we try to be great again.

We think by going backwards, we can move onward.

We choose to remember the good of the past and forget our failures.

Now we hope to turn back time to the good ol’ days.

America the Great.

America the Beautiful.

What is greatness without failure?

What is beauty without imperfection?

This is what we are.

A land stuck in the past.

A land that forgot how to look at the other perspective.

A land crumbling under its own weight.

This is who we are.

A people divided.

A people who do not know each other anymore.

A people who do not care for each other anymore.

What ever happened to the land of the free?

What ever happened to the streets paved with gold?

What ever happened to the land of tomorrow?

What ever happened to the American Dream?

Now ask yourself this.

Who do you want us to be?

How do you want to live?

Will you do onto others as you want for yourself?

Make America great again?

It isn’t anything political.

Greatness doesn’t start with the government.

Greatness comes from the people.

Greatness comes from the heart.

Make America love again.
