What the Heart Needs

What a jolly night, is it not?

I can agree to disagree,

For this night was not a pleasant one.

Riding around on a horse was a child,

A child born with a terrible knee.

This child was named after an old aunt,

Who passed away from a terrible knee.

Both names seemed to be coated with mystery.

With the name Grace, followed an injury.

Grace is not pleasant,

Even if the name is supposed to be.

The child was merely fourteen when she dispersed.

Grace’s mind flooded with wicked memories.

She was no longer innocent, she became a torturous being.

The sun was covered. The moon was out.

This tiny being followed a misshapen scene.

She witnessed the death of those she treasured.

She screamed and fell.

No one could piece her back together.

The poor infant was scarred and forever deformed.

Grace got on her horse and rode and rode,

Until she no longer felt the noise.

The noise of utter pain growing like spikes inside her soul.

The days moved on and so did she.

Grace grew to become a woman at ease.

She perfected her mask and behaved like a queen.

No one did know what it was she had seen.

For everyone, she was as sweet as candy,

And no one would know her true identity.

It was running through her veins,

That want, that struggle, to ease the pain.

She killed and slaughtered too many beings,

For she did not know how many it all added to be.

This poor women was still lost like a homeless child,

Withering to belong somewhere without these memories.

She knew she was wrong, she knew she was evil.

She wanted out but her veins summoned her darker self.

Grace walked down Hollywood Street,

When she was spotted by a Criminal Psychologist killing a being.

Grace ran and ran but struggled for sleep.

This Criminal Psychologist caught up to see,

The pain, the sorrow, the hole inside Gracey.

The Criminal Psychologist took Grace to the police.

She tried so hard to help Gracey.

This poor women needed a hand,

And the Criminal Psychologist gave her that hand.

Gracey admitted to be whom the Criminal Psychologist,

Thought her to be. Grace was lost and found herself.

She was covered in ice from her childhood life.

The Criminal Psychologist helped her see,

And gave Gracey the welcome she had wanted to receive.

Grace stopped her killing spree,

For life seemed to summon tranquility.
