What I Wish

Thu, 04/10/2014 - 22:01 -- MLY

I wish someone had told me when I was thirteen

“Don’t forget how to make these explosions, you’ll miss them later”

“Don’t let people ignore you because you’re young”

“command”

I wish someone had told me when I was fourteen

“You can make it”

“There’s nothing wrong with you”

“Love yourself, no matter what anyone says”

I wish someone had told me at fifteen

“Don’t look back”

“Chin up, always”

“Brave”

I wish someone had told me when I was sixteen

“Yes, he does”

“Write”

“Listen to that voice in your head, no matter what”

I wish someone had told me when I was seventeen

“You WILL get into college”

“live your life for you”

“Your worth is not defined by someone else”

I wish someone had told me when I was eighteen

“It’s okay to be afraid

“It’s okay to wake up needing somebody”

“Live your life by your terms, not to make anyone else happy”

“Give them hell, they deserve it”

“you are NOT a bad person”

“You are NOT a terrible daughter”

“you ARE a good friend”

“You can still make explosions.”
