What If We All Had Empathy?

Wed, 04/02/2014 - 15:21 -- KSchenk

You do not know me.

I am just ink on a paper.

Pixels on a computer screen.

A passing stranger on the street.

You have no way of knowing me.

But what if that changed?

Now I am a girl who’s terrified of the future.

A kid in a world where all the odds are against me.

I am a woman who sees the struggles of others.

What if people changed?

I’m not only ink on a page.

Not simply pixels on a screen.

I am not a faceless stranger.

You know me and you care, and

Now you understand.

What if we all had empathy?
