What Life is Really Like

Once upon a time

A little girl sat on her daddy's knee

Dreaming of her future

A princess of a fair kingdom

With a handsome prince by her side

Once upon a time

A young child, the same child chatted wither father

About her wedding

About her father giving her away to Mr. Right

A dream boy whom she has yet to meet

Once upon a time

A young girl holds her fathers hand

And worrys about his comfort

On his deathbed she whispers goodbye

And her beloved father was gone

Once upon a time

A young woman cries on her girlfriend's shoulder

On the aniversery of her father's death

Having never told him of her sexuality

She wishes she had

Fore he is the only one who would accept her

Once upon a time

Two women want to marry

But one of them doesn't have her father to give her away to Mrs. Right

She stands at the alter and awaits her bride

Once upon a time

An elderly woman recounts her life in a book

She called it 'What Life is Really Like'

And she told her story

Of love, loss, and lesbians
