What Makes Me Happy

Music makes me happy,

as does dancing and singing,

as does painting and drawing,

as does nature and reading.

Dancing makes me feel alive,

allows me to let out the feelings couped up inside.

With every macarena or twirl I do,

my smile is not so easily able to hide.

Singing lets my thoughts pour out,

whether in the shower or driving in a round-about.

Location is of no concern,

as long as I can make my voice be heard.

Painting allows my hands to fly,

letting my imagination come to life.

With the colors of the wind and a steady hand,

I can make a creation fit for any man.

Drawings are a way of life,

a design on paper with no end mark.

As my pen moves, my thoughts drift away,

and in me I can feel a lingering spark.

I hear the songs of the wind,

I watch the dances of the falling leaves.

It brings a smile to my face,

It holds me to a promise, that I shall never grieve.

Reading is a portal to another world,

a promise of dragons and stories untold.

It lets me become a pirate or maybe a rouge,

and my smile is evident with each page that is rolled.

Music makes me happy,

as does dancing and singing,

as does painting and drawing,

as does nature and reading.
