What Is My Culture?

Look at me and you will see my skin is fair.

The color of my skin gives me privileges that everyday I must wear.

Feel me and you will feel the curves designed for motherhood.

History has shown these curves have never been equal to a "brotherhood".

Hear me and you will hear words you understand.

Pushed aside are words from other places that we have banned.

Follow me and you will find my life revolves around teaching.

Putting myself through school is a goal I am so close to reaching.

Step into my home and you will be transported into memories of Palestine.

This 25% of me yearns for peace in a country that will never fully be mine.

My culture reflects who I've been, who I am, and who I will be.

But do not think that these three attributes define all of me.
