What Poetry Has Taught Me

Poetry has taught me that everyone has something to say

No matter what walk of life you came from

Or how you think of yourself in a different way

Poetry isn't some random words on a page

It's your thoughts, feelings, and emotions

Written down for someone to relate.

Poetry has taught me that everyone has something to say

You don't have to be the brightest of the bunch

To shine in your own luminous way

When you put your thoughts to a page

You're giving someone that feeling of confidence

That everything will be okay.

Poetry has taught me that everyone has something to say

An outlet to put thoughts on paper

Whether it be about your brightest nights or darkest days

It isn't always easy to tell someone what you wanna say

When you write poetry, just let the thoughts flow

Let the pen talk to the paper, and come what may.
