What Would You Change
Let's talk about change - there's something we don't like
There's something we have in common - there's something we have in our eyes
We never know what we're going to actually do - at least, not until the last nanosecond when
That electrical charge within our brain connects to our muscles or the left/right brain and then
And then you do it
That's all it takes
You don't realize how fast you actually are until you stop and think about it
If your body moved as fast as you could think
You'd be faster than Superman, the Flash, or Dash from the Incredibles
Because all it takes is to make something impossible, do it, and make it credible
You don't need a test from another to identify who you are
If you thought about it, you're smart, yet you needn't think very hard
You could be a sun, falling form the sky - but then that's a shooting star
Then perhaps you're the brightest of them all - no, that's not it - wait; yes; you are
You don't know it yet
Or maybe you do
Have you ever thought about
Just who was thinking of you?
Maybe it's some other species
Like a dog or a cat - oh, what about an alien?!
Sounds so exciting! - or wait - Google says:
"Did you mean: a black guy claiming to be Australian?"
Ha, I caught you off guard there
But our thoughts are shut down so fast by the government
Think about it:
The United States was founded by basically the ideas from the first amendment
- Freedom of Religion
- Freedom of Speech
- Freedom of Press
- Freedom of Assembly
- Freedom of Petition
Yet, we can't stand the thought of homosexuals
We can't stand the use of "profane" language
We criticize people based on their looks instead of the character of their hearts
Our education is low grade, outdated, makes people irate
And then what - we make fun of people who are overweight
Here, let me tell you ten things I know about you:
1. You are reading this
2. You are human
3. You can't say the letter "pee" without spreading your lips
5. You just tried that
6. You can't lick your elbow with your tongue
8. You just now realized you skipped number four
9. You realized that there was no number four
10. You just realized the same about number seven
11. You're smiling because you thought it was funny
13. Even though you skipped numbers, there are still ten things I know about you
I did all of this just thinking
The slam title for this is "What Would You Change"
Well, I'm changing the way we think
Now it's your turn
