What's Coming

You say I'm a wimp?

That I worry for nothing?

I say I believe in peace

And love widely.

But really, I don't.

And I'm nervous.

I'm scared.

I'm anxiuos.

I'm no flower-carrying hippie.

I'm frightened.

Angered.

Pissed off.

See, the world never treated me nicely.

You say I'm a wimp?

That I worry for nothing?

Hold that thought.

I was born in a world with no shame

Where a man who's not fair is repaid

And some guy with a bag and a beer

Yells "Save Yourselves. The end is near!"

What end?

Haven't you already seen it?

When you learned many things

That destroyed all your feelings?

"Money doesn't grow on trees," mother said.

"You can't do that," sister said.

"You'll be no better off than me," father sa-

Oh wait, he never was there.

You say I'm a wimp?

That I worry for nothing?

Poor fool.

We all get what's coming.
