Where Are You?

Have been awake since four knowing that you were gone

The darkness felt long, and brought in a sense of discomfort

The discomforting intuition was the realization of your death.

Have been thinking about you and your jokes all day

Knowing that you are present somewhere

But the intuition was the realization of your death.

Have been ignoring all the food around me

Seeing it, reminds me of you

The intuition was the realization of your death.

Have been thinking about your laughter before your funeral

Reminding me to be happy

But I couldn’t because the intuition was the realization of your death.

Have been weeping in your burial

Knowing that you won’t come back

Because the intuition was the realization of your death.

You will be missed, remembered, mourned, and loved

And forever relevant to us

Even though the intuition was the realization of your death.
