Where life outran me

If there came a day
Where life outran me
I would return to my
Parents home
Beaten by the world
Weathered by time
And caked in mud
I would hang my head

But when I arrive
The house is empty
My parents laid to rest
In a grassy bed
I would close my eyes
And rest with them
Recalling how
Tall they stood over me

Maybe ill be tall
When I am older
My parents learned to grow
After the fields
And the grass would see me
Growing from my
Parents bed
Then It would smile

This is beautiful. It makes me think of how we can never lose our ties to family, blood related or otherwise, and how there is no shame in realizing that what you are doing isn't working.
