Who I Am

Who am I? Or what society wants me to be?

The girl who has her life together

good grades, good friends & social life, a nice home atmosphere

but what you don’t see is their struggle on the inside

the constant

do more, go farther, push harder

and live up to everybody’s expectations

who am i? or what society wants me to be?

graduate high school and get plenty of scholarships

go to college, make the grades, make a living, be able to provide for yourself

but struggling with coming up with that money…

overworking yourself during the week

just to get through...

just to be asked

What happened on that test, Creighton?

You can do better than that.

You. Can. Do. Better.

Who am I? Or what society wants me to be?

to look like a double zero

to have a perfect body

small waist, small thighs, can’t forget to have that thigh gap, and a flat tummy

sometimes even skipping meals to live up to these expectations

apparently looking healthy is considered

fat

but perfect to who?

Me?

or you?

Who am I? Or what society wants me to be?

How about who am I? Who do I want to be?
