Who You Are

Who You Are

The days press on as I wait

though it is not without giddy pleasure

I do not know whether

you will be tall with dark hair

or have eyes that

capture me every moment

I am with you

I do not know if

you enjoy to sing or play the guitar

all I know is that

it does not matter to me

what you look like

or what your interest are

For I know who you are to be

a man who has saved himself for me

a man who will respect me

and treat me like his own Rachel

working all this time

to be worthy of me

expecting the same from me

to be a woman

guided by God

searching to do good in the world

you are the one

that God has sent me

and you are the one

that deserves to be my everything

because just as I have waited for you

you have waited for me.
