Why do I write through day and night 

through fights and strife 

and loss of sight? 

Because poetry will remain.

When my plane loses flight

and I fall from heights

and I'm filled with fright.

Poetry will sooth.

When I lose my life

and darkness strikes

and there is no light

For poetry will be the sun.
