Why I write

is simply so

when my words sprout wings

and take off into my soul

my mind and spirit

filled with dismay

writing is the ticket

as I take on the soul train

Why I write

is simply so

I put my feelings down

so I dont feel so low

When I show them to my friends

and family to see

My writing will never end

to my love called poetry

Why do I write?

Is the question I ask myself

for when ever I feel sad

And when I don't have my mom and dad

I think back, recollect

and let poetry take full effect.
