Why I Write

Location

Why I write I don’t know.

The reason’s not set in stone.

One day reading became silver and writing became gold.

Why I write I don’t know.

These feelings went untold.

Just hoping and praying I’m not corroding my soul.

Why I write I don’t know.

 Somewhere in my soul

I needed to start before it got dark and

Hell’s raging inferno became my rock.

Why I write I don’t know.

It was more than an escape

as both my words and tears flowed

I sealed my own fate.

Why I write I don’t know,

but somehow it saved my soul.

Lead me to love and returned me to His dove.

Why I write I don’t know.

Perhaps I don’t care.

It’s a pretty darn good excuse

To sit on my derriere.

Why I write.
