Why I Write

I don't write poetry to be considered cool

I don't write poetry to have an advantage for my resume

I don't even write poetry to improve my writing skills,

I write because it flows out of me

I write because it expresses feeling I didn't even knew I had

I write because it's the only way someone-anyone-will listen to my deepest thoughts.

I don't write to pay the bills

I don't write to help a cause

I write because it helps me help myself.

I'll be honest, I don't even know if I'm any good.

But I don't write to be good, or even amazing,

I write to let it out,

Because it's therapeutic.
