Why I Write

After the day is almost done

Tears fall from my face

I try to keep doing right

But they keep telling me to quicken the pace

I try to hold back the anger

But it is all in vain

So many feelings

It’s hard to believe I’m sane

The same thing I always do

Again and again I try

Yet hold back my anger I cannot

I get irritated so easily,

The words burst out of me,

What I say is hard to control

Oh why can’t you see?!

With this journal in hand,

I go to a quiet spot

To write out my anger like this

Boy am I there a lot.
