Why is it that people hurt themselves?
Physically injuring their bones, but verbally shattering their soul.
Why is it that people lie to one another?
Recklessly ruining the foundation of trust and spitting on it.
Why is it that people are selfish?
Always wanting the lion's share of the pie and going through all means to get it.
Why is it that people are ruthless?
Purposely passing by the helpless man dying in the streets.
Why is it that people hold grudges with one another?
Building a barrier made of malice and hate, and laying it against their once cherished bond.
On the other hand,
Why is it that people encourage others?
Giving them reviving honey that cannot be found in any beehive nest.
Why is it that people are honest with one another?
Creating a rock foundation of genuine trust and peace.
Why is it that people are selfless?
Even willing to sacrifice their lives so others may live.
Why is it that people are merciful?
Showing compassion to that foe who longed for their demise.
Why is it that people forgive?
Setting aside the past to begin a new path of reconcilation and love.
Why is it?
Abundant may be the existing evils in our world. But, maybe, just maybe,
sufficient is the good, steming from divine grace, which overcomes them.
