Wild Heart

Location

I think even as she ages

She remains the same little girl

She used to be

Although she has outgrown

The tiny sparkling princess gowns

Doesn't mean she cannot retain

The fairy tales she dreamt about

Under her butterfly printed sheets

I think she still believes in the pointy-eared boy in the leafy shirt

Who will take her to the land where she'll

Never age another day

But she lives in reality

And in this reality she is growing up

But she is the same little girl

She used to be

She will forever have that glimmer

In her eye and that hope in her heart

She will always dream and believe

In the unbelievable

She has gotten taller

Her hair has darkened

And she is more wise

But her heart stays young

And it is her wild heart

That will keep her sane

In reality
