Woman of War

War is coming upon us now,

A female, they will not allow

I cut my hair with a knife,

No longer am I just a wife

I am a woman of war

Escape my home, into the night,

Away so I can join the fight

Steal and wear a uniform,

I will start to break the norm

I am a woman of war

Shots cut them like a sword,

This will not be ignored

Now we have gone to war, and

Death is knocking on our door

I am a woman of war

Tears are shed and blood is spilled,

Many on both sides have been killed

But we still do not stop,

Until we come out on top

I am a woman of war

One last battle, the final stand,

The day to die at a stranger’s hand

They fired a shot, and the bullet I caught,

But I’ll never regret that I fought

I was a woman of war.
