Wonders of the Wild

Fri, 02/19/2016 - 12:03 -- Bug

Take a look around you.
Do you see the starlight?
Do you see the owl who
Flies solo in the night?

Do you shiver in fear
When the wolf cries its tune?
As it drifts on the wind
On its journey to the moon?

Do your eyes dance with wonder
When lightning strikes the Earth?
Turning live things to ash
No matter what they’re worth?

Do you feel the fury
When a tornado whirls?
Driving creatures from their homes?
Ripping at trees as it swirls?

Do you sense the power
As the bald eagle soars?
Or when the bull elk bugles;
Challenging all outdoors?

And do you see the wonder
Shining within their eyes?
As the children of the world
Watch the wild’s open skies?

Take the route through the pines.
You’ll then realize what I mean.
You’ll know the wild wonders,
Marveling at what is seen.
