The Words I Would Write
Location
If I wrote you a thank-you letter
For every smile you've put
On these small pink lips
They'd have to cut down
A tree for each one
For the words I would write
To explain how these muscles
Curl with every mention of your name
Would be too intricate
For a single sheet of blank paper
Describing the emotions
That came with every grin
Would take years and years
And pages after white, crisp pages
No, decades
Each flash of bright white
And creamy red
And soothing blue
That popped in my mind
Like fireworks of pure passion
That colour my brown and grey
Canvas of thoughts
Would be a burst of one emotion
An altogether overwhelming feeling
Of you.
