The World Outside

Location

The world outside

It’s cold, alone, suffocating me

Can’t we see what we have come to be?

A divided economy

Don’t you see?

The world outside

We’re lost souls

Who are trying to get to heaven?

Kids having kids

Just to take a piece of the piece of the pie

Do you understand me?

Do you hear what‘s going on

But have nothing to say?

Speak or forever hold your piece

Because you’re running

From reality

Like the rest of this economy

Praying for a way out of what we call hell

Locking up human society

Sitting each African American male

Inside a boxed cell

But who care?

Nobody

You have to succeed by yourself these days

Let the stars guide you

To the one secret place

You yearn to be….

Yourself

In the world outside
