Writing and Music

The world: silent dark and dull

No rhythm rhyme or beat

Something was needed to fill the null

A beat, both pure and sweet.

Some to pen and paper turned

To make their world alive

Onto paper their thoughts were churned

In verse, they learned to thrive.

Words held more meaning

In this new world of prose

Entire lives were leaning

In the expression that arose.

But some made no connection

Could find nothing in the words

Saw just mazes of complexion

Create by the "nerds."

To a different beat they took,

Combining lots of sounds

Not to be written in a book

But listened all around.

Through mash of beat and tone

The mind allowed to run

Their emotions could be shown

Worh just a few notes spun.

Two path to self express

Two ways to less the blues,

Neither one is less,

Of either one may choose.
