My green eyes

Gaze against my nearly translucent skin,

Then flicker across buildings

Of mirrors and concrete,

With blurry lights,

As rainwater descends,

Before pelting my crimson coat,

And as I look for a place to hide

In fear among buildings and skyscrapers,

I glance down into a puddle.

Loose ringlets settle against my face

With a smooth jaw-line and a set of fuller lips,

Because I'm no longer the girl

With a small round head

With short tight black curls cradling her face.
