A Year's Care

She was like a seed drowned in dirt.

Her home was as dry as a desert.

She was small and frail, almost an introvert.

She lacked the necessities to grow such as water, air, and glow.

She fell deep into a grim world within due to people who promised to never let darkness in.

She was stuck in a daily routine of betrayal by males who only utilized their power to blackmail.

A seed with so much potential, her growth would have been exponential.

Nonetheless, the seed held on for she knew her sadness will one day be gone.

And finally someone came along and sang this poor seed a wonderful song.

They took the time to allow the seed to unwind and look forward rather than behind.

With daily care, the seed no longer had nightmares.

She finally broke the surface and took her first breath of fresh air.

She was able to flourish because of the person who took the time to nourish.

One year later, she blossomed into an extravagant tree that allows millions to breathe.

She shares her happiness with others and she owes it all to another.
