For You

Mon, 11/17/2014 - 10:46 -- mdlopez

Older siblings, older cousins, older adults

everywhere.

Strict, proper, Catholic

everywhere.

No C's, no B's, A's

everywhere.

Do that! Do this! Grow up!

Everywhere.

Okay, I will.

I'll mature as if we were living in an older time.

I'll push my scientific logic to the side,

for you.

I'll beat my self blue until I get that 110%.

I'll let go of my childhood and live the life you chose for me.

I'll do it all to make you happy and proud.

Actually, I won't.

I'm gonna bulldoze this wall I've put up.

I'm gonna soar, not fly.

And if I fall, break a wing, that's okay.

I'm gonna sing like a canary.

I'm gonna let you see the true me.

The immature, non-religious, okay-with-a-C teenager.

I'm gonna live my own life.

That is, I would if I could bulldoze this wall that I've built up taller than the effiel tower.
