You No Longer Own Me

Location

You are the forbidden fruit,
The forbidden word
That had me mute.
My habits were absurd.

You had me lie
And owned my silence.
I had to abide
Because you were the tyrant.

Your reign has finally fallen
And I finally saw the light.
You are now the felon
And I began to ignite.

I am a victim.
A survivor of sexual abuse.
From my past, I have gained wisdom
And my fear has deduced.

I now own a loud voice
That is full of desire.
I now have a choice,
A choice that I admire
