You told me that if

Location

You told me that if I could breathe

In a single breath of linoleum

Than I would be like the girl

In my imagination.

Yet one more hungry night

Does not bring me

Even a shade of

Perfection.

When will I look like her?

With slim limbs and

Flawless skin,

When?

All that you want is beauty

And lights that are dim.

Just turn around now;

I am none of them.

If it’s beauty you want to find

You can look inside and

Feast your eyes on

My golden heart.
