Your Daughter Needs You

Hidden away and scared

Tampered by the touch

Of fear and rejection

Writing her story

With a sharp pen

Purging the edge of death

With a face full of tears

And a finger shaking scared

Carrying the weight of the world

On her bony shoulders

War torn skin the color

Of blood red

Lost in the millions

Of bodies walking the street

But you still don’t notice

She can’t smile without it being forced

She writes it in her skin

But you choose to ignore it

She marks a line for every

Time she needed you

But you left a long time ago

Daddy your daughter needs you

She is hurting herself

Over a man she doesn’t know

A man she can’t trust

Daddy your daughter is in need

Of a hero
