Zombie Me (pantoum)I am

Zombie Me (pantoum) I am the girl crawling for peaceful sleep You are the zombie crawling for flesh Slowly walking around in snow deep Hunting any human that smells fresh I am the zombie crawling for flesh With rotten hands and hungry eyes Hunting any human that smells fresh You are the girl staying up late on chilly nights With icy hands and bloodshot eyes Writing wrong answers on your math worksheet I am the zombie staying up late on chilly nights Wiggling my toes and relaxing my feet Writing wrong answers on my math worksheet I am the girl leaping out of the grave Wiggling my toes and unfreezing my feet From the earth that feels safe You are the zombie leaping out of the grave The zombie jumping into the purple sky High above the earth that feels safe Like a broken bird learning to fly I am the girl jumping into the blue sky Flapping my arms up and down Like a broken bird learning to fly Away from this home, away from this town Flapping your arms up and down You are the zombie sliding through the moors Away from this home, away from this town I am the zombie who never does her chores I am the girl sliding through the moors Being chased by an angry puppy Because I am the girl who never does her chores And my daddy just happens to be a crazy puppy Being chased by an angry puppy I am fleeing the cemetery with my broken leg in hand My daddy is the crazy puppy Who’s too much for a zombie to withstand I am fleeing the cemetery with my broken leg in hand Hoping there’s a pay phone out here in the wood An angry daddy is too much for me to withstand I am the girl walking with my head hidden under a hood Hoping there’s a pay phone out here in the wood I am the zombie isolated from the human world Walking with my head hidden under a hood Longing for the blood and flesh of a human girl I am the girl lost from the human world No one bothers to look for me; no one wants me back Longing for the blood and flesh of a human girl I can chew on anything and treat it as a healthy snack No one bothers to look for me; no one wants me back I am the girl who’s tired of being half dead and half alive I can chew on anything and treat it as a healthy snack I am the zombie roaming this earth with an unsettled mind I am the girl who’s tired of being half dead and half alive The human me stumbles through the wood with a body frozen by the cold The zombie me roams this earth with an unsettled mind I am the dead girl lost in the wood. I am the zombie buried alive by the snow. The human me stumbles through the wood with a body frozen by the cold Slowly walking around in snow deep I am the zombie lost in the wood. I am the girl buried alive by the snow. I am the girl crawling for peaceful sleep
