DE Navarro is an author, poet, editor, publisher and life-coach born in Newport, Rhode Island. He grew up both in the inner city in Chicago and in rural northern Indiana, then went to college at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He served in the US Air Force for ten years. He has lived all over the United States (12 different states) and even in England for four years. He has a degree in Communications and Ministerial Leadership. His love of poetry and the writing arts began at age eight. He won a school poetry contest at age ten, and his first ever published works appeared in the Chicago Tribune at age eleven. In 1980 he was selected to appear as a featured poet in the fall issue of The Purdue Exponent. He has had numerous professional and freelance writing jobs and opportunities throughout the years. He was the editor of an award winning career newsletter in 1988. He developed and taught a number of life enrichment classes in Ohio from 2001-2006, which included: The Writer's Workshop, Power Revision Checklist, Crazy History of the English Language, The "OPEN Now" Time Management System, The Joys of Aromatherapy, Basic Budgeting, and a Poetry Workshop. His editing credits include novels by Desiree Cunin, and Steven Thomas. A number of his poems have been published in various magazines, literary journals and anthologies. He is the winner of several small online poetry contests including Spinning Nouns, Stormy Word, The Collab Corral and Writing.com. He runs an online poetry community originally called the NavWorks Press Poetry Forum but now called We Write Poetry.
