I stand in a staircase
No windows, no lights
Only up or down are my choices in life.
Neither is not an option, no not anymore
When stalling...
Looks have faded
My elastic skin now wrinkled
Lovely brunette locks turned to limp gray
Queenly posture crippled
Roads have been traveled...
I stare into the lively, unkept hues of the flame
Which fire flare fiercely under my fingertips
Wood cackled crankily as it met it's death...
I have never had a monster under my bed,
But I do have one inside my head.
He does not have long claws,
He does not have jagged teeth, ...
