Gun violence is a serious issue in the United States. As of February 14, 2018, when an ex-student from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida shot and killed 17 students, there were 1,624 mass shootings in 1,870 days in the country. That's nearly one mass shooting every single day in the past several years. American citizens own more than half of the 650 million civilian-owned guns worldwide. And while the United States makes up less than 5% of the world's population, it holds 31% of global mass shooters.
The recent mass shootings have sparked powerful movements like March for Our Lives and debates about the future of gun control in the United States. What are your thoughts on gun control?
